Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 : Form functionnalities

In Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 (and 2011), administrator can create new forms for each entity, out of the box or custom entity (except for the appointment entity).

To manage your forms, you have to go in "Settings / Customization / choose an entity"

This is the main interface for the form customization:
You have 4 differents part :
  • On the left: The form navigation, place the related entity to show the associated view
  •  Middle : Place the fileds in section/Tab. This the main organization of your form.
  • On the right: List of all the available field for this entity. By default, this is all the unused fields.
  • Top: Manage options for your form (Name of the form, etc...)
In the Home interface (top), you have different menu:

  • Save: Save and Publish your modification on the form
  • Edit: When you select a section or a tab, you can access to their property. Change the name, the label, if the section has to be visible by default, etc...
  • Select: By default, it's "Body", manage the fields, etc... You can select "Header" to change the field in the header of the form, "Footer", or the "Navigation" to change the related entity.

In the Insert interface (top), you manage your Tab/Section, the subgrid, the spacer, insert quick view form (You have to create the form before adding on an other main form), the web ressource, the iframe.

For the form navigation, you have to select navigation in the top menu first, and you can add, remove, replace the related entity. The default view of all the related entity is the associated view.

In the middle, you manage the fields of your form. Add/Remove/Replace/hide/unhide the fields.
To add a field, go in the right menu, select a field and drop the field on the form.

On the right, you have the list of all the unused field. But it's possible to reuse the fields on the form.
You can have for example, two fields "Name". the value will be the same in the field.

You can create your field directly from the form. Just click on "New field".
